Recipe from the Archive
Over the years, we have had the opportunity to sample some of the best food in Humboldt. The local chefs have shared their secrets with us one step at a time - and we've been listening:
- Technique, Timing and Tools are the three "T"s of cooking.
- Your dish will only be as good as the ingredients you use.
- Calibrate your stove and don't overheat your pans.
- Keep your knives sharp - a dull blade leads to more injuries.
- Always read through the entire recipe before you start.
- Know your audience.
- There are no mistakes in cooking - only variations.
- Practice makes perfect.
- Most importantly, have fun!
Food and eating is a celebration of life. Eating healthfully isn't just better for you - it makes you feel better! Nothing nourishes the soul more effectively than sharing a good meal with good friends. That's why we continue to offer classes here at Pacific Flavors. We believe that it's important to be creative and try new things and we feel very fortunate that so many members of the community agree! Our guest chefs continue to delight us with dishes highlighting seasonal and local cuisine, and expand our horizons with international specialties.
To show our appreciation, we would like to share a recipe with you from our archives:
