About Class Schedule Making the Most Registration Recipe

Cooking School

Pacific Flavors Cooking School--kitchen Since its debut in 1997, The Pacific Flavors Cooking School has been offering a wide range of classes for the home chef. Classes are held in the evening during the week and during the day on Saturdays. Our success depends on the dedication of the local chefs and their love of sharing good food with the community. Each class is taught by a guest instructor who has carefully selected and tested recipes to share with the class.

A wide variety of classes are held each session, from hands on classes like sushi to gourmet party fare. Each class lasts about three hours and highlights techniques for preparing each recipe. Our facility, located in the back of the Pacific Flavors store, is modeled after a home kitchen. We understand that students don't have a restaurant kitchen at home and that it's important to learn how to create each recipe in a realistic environment.

Pacific Flavors Cooking School--kitchen Most classes accommodate a 15 student audience. There are mirror above the center island so that everyone can see how each dish is prepared. Each student receives a copy of each of the recipe and a sample of each prepared dish, as well as the opportunity to see the recipes put together by an expert. Questions are encouraged, and our goal is to encourage students to try out the new recipes on friends and family. We provide a 10% discount for all participants, which they may redeem within one week of attending a class.

There are 3 sessions a year: Winter/Spring, Summer, and Fall. Sign-ups generally occur 10 days before the session begins. The schedule of classes is printed locally and distributed to over 3000 interested subscribers. A copy of the newsletter can be found online, or you can pick one up in the store.

Pacific Flavors Cooking School--kitchen Our goal is to provide a location where members of the community can learn about cooking. For some, this means starting at the very beginning. For others, this is a change to explore international cuisine and learn how to prepare specialty items.
